About Martin

Martin Smith is an established and successful businessman, philanthropist, communicator and visionary. He is also an internationally recognised author, speaker and blogger. He writes about and discusses online trust. 

 Martin is a Fellow of The Security Institute, and a Freeman of both the City of London and the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists. In 2017 he received a lifetime achievement award for his services to the security industry.

 In 2004 Martin founded The Security Awareness Special Interest Group (SASIG) as a subscription-free networking forum for security practitioners. Its membership – now more than 4,500 individuals representing some 2,000+ organisations – is drawn from CIOs, CISOs and those responsible for security, privacy and data protection within their organisations. Professionals from the worlds of risk, HR, legal, supply, government, law enforcement and academia increasingly attend SASIG events. 

 SASIG runs physical and online events each year in a wide range of workstreams and networking activities. All free to attend.
