About Emma
Dr Emma Williams (CPsychol, CSci, AFBPsS) holds a Vice-Chancellor’s Fellowship in Digital Innovation and Wellbeing in the School of Psychological Science at the University of Bristol. She is a Chartered Psychologist and Chartered Scientist and conducts research focused on human aspects of cyber crime and cyber security.
Following a PhD in the area of deception at Cardiff University, Emma spent time as a psychologist within HM Government and as a behavioural scientist at BAE Systems. She returned to academia in 2015 to take up a post-doctoral research position investigating what makes people susceptible to malevolent influence in online contexts, such as phishing emails and online scams. She is an Associate of the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST).
